The weekend can't be all about us! Please schedule some time for yourselves and enjoy some of our favorite food, drinks, and activities.
As a retired hostess here, Chief's is the quintessential sports bar in Lake Forest. TVs abound, the game you want to watch will be on. Guaranteed.
(Olivia could be seen scarfing down cheese curds with spicy ranch and the Southwest chicken wrap behind the hostess stand from time to time.)

Your day will always start on the right foot if you have breakfast at Egg Harbor. Fact. Although Joe rolls his eyes when Olivia orders rainbow pancakes, he's known to eat half of it anyway.
512 N Western Ave, Lake Forest, IL 60045
If only every town had a Foodstuffs. Sigh. Most frequented over high school lunch hours, college breaks, and every LF visit, Foodstuffs is essentially a gourmet grocery + deli. You can build your own salads, and sandwiches, or pick up soup from the counter, amongst other classic staples. Don't even tempt me with a Monster Bar until AFTER the wedding day...
255 E Westminster, Lake Forest, IL 60045
The place to see and be seen in downtown Lake Forest. All you need to know is: "Long time enduring family owned local spot for great food and a drink and to watch a game. Est. 1934."
Oh, and that the smiley fries are crucial.
768 N Western Ave, Lake Forest, IL 60045
HomeTown is new to Lake Forest but it offers everything our health nuts will crave. Coffee, fresh juices + smoothie bowls, HomeTown toasts and bagel melts, this place will be your all-day cafe haven.
231 E Wisconsin Ave, Lake Forest, IL, 60045
The best walking trail in all of North Shore. Fort Sheridan is a shoreline forest preserve with rolling terrain & trails, and lots of history! And honestly, it's simply stunning this time of year.
1275 Gilgare Ln, Lake Forest, IL 60045
Would this list be complete without some golf course options? Absolutely not. Deerpath is open to the public, and a favorite amongst the Murphy/Patton/Tatro men.
500 West Deerpath Rd. Lake Forest, IL 60045
Aaaaaand one more golf course for good measure.
Fun fact: Olivia took golf lessons here as a kid!
355 W Washington Ave, Lake Bluff, IL 60044
If you can't get a tee time at Lake Bluff or Deerpath, Duffer's is the place to go. Located right in downtown Lake Forest, Duffer's has pub-style grub, an extensive bar list, and... golf simulator bays.
You're welcome, boys.
950 N Western Ave, Lake Forest, IL, 60045
Although you'll spend most of Friday here, The Botanic Garden is a staple! If you don't get your fix on wedding day (and trust me, there's still PLENTY to see), stop by for a more explorative day.
There is a paid entrance fee, but it's worth every cent.
